Teahupoo Tahiti Challenge 2017 Day 1 Highlights

Although the conditions where a little smaller than predicted, day 1 was epic. Day 2 promises bigger swell.

The swell hitting the reef was not big enough for outer reef and too big for inner reef making conditions not perfect, this made it even more challenging as riders had to choose the right wave not to lose their priority.

PJ TARTAK on a nice tube.

PJ pulls off one of the strongest airs on the fist heats.

Our Puerto Rican rider PJ Tartak had a strong  heat facing off against Teahupoo’s pioneer, Mike Stewart.

Our South African adopted rider, Jared Houston, had a strong comeback after shoulder surgery winning Heat 5 of round 1.

Today promises bigger swell so make sure to tune in.

Check out today’s draw.

Good luck to all riders and stay safe.
